If there's one thing that really gets my jets firing, it's being presented with a creative challenge!
Anny Perez called to inquire about a session for her daughters and offered up a brand new challenge. I feel silly admitting this, but when she explained what she was looking for, I thought she was saying "dance photos with flowers." She could tell I was off-base when I asked if she wanted to use real or silk flowers. She cleared up my confusion by sending me a few examples of dance photos using flour.
I was blown away! The wow-factor was immediately apparent. I couldn't wrap my head around the logistics of capturing such images myself – BUT, I knew I wanted to give it my best shot. I coaxed a friend into coming over and helping me perform a test-shoot. We experimented with timing and lighting until I felt confident with the process. A few days later, Anny and her daughters met me at Suhka Artist Development Studios where we worked together to create these stunning images.
Have a look! These images are simply magic!
I am extremely proud of these images but I can't take all the credit. Tricia at Sukha Artist Development Studios provided the perfect space to work and the girls really brought their A-game plus an open-minded willingness to try pretty much anything I suggested. These girls are SUPER STARS!
These are just a few of my favorite images from the session. You can view the entire gallery
