Every so often I meet someone who truly shines. Lori is one of those people. She is intelligent, sassy, beautiful and truly kind hearted. She's one of those people who makes you feel like a better person, just for being in her presence.
Lori is a CIS student at Georgia State and she's ready to make her mark on the world. With graduation looming ever closer, Lori discovered a new passion blooming in her heart. She began traveling during her academic breaks. Experiencing world travel – of sampling the culture, history and landscapes in Europe and the Caribbean – opened her eyes to new possibilities!
Naturally, as she traveled and yearned to travel even more, Lori began reading travel blogs. The stories and images shared by those who travel for a living really struck a chord with her. Soon, Lori realized that she absolutely loves traveling and sharing her experiences. Actually BECOMING a travel blogger seemed impossible but the idea was planted in her mind.
Providence provided a push, as it often does, in the the right direction. As Lori continued to pour over travel blogs, she discovered that one of her favorite bloggers was not only around the same age but she's also a student at Georgia State. Lori reached out to her and the two women met over coffee. Sitting across from someone very much like herself, Lori was able to envision the same kind of life for herself. That tiny idea which had only been a seed blossomed into a budding dream.
Lori took the plunge and began building her blog, Life Like It's Goldn. She immediately realized that she needed images – good images, the RIGHT images. I was thrilled when she inquired about a session.
At first she inquired about head shots, standard fare for any site's "about" page. As we discussed her dream, it soon became obvious that we needed to capture all the gorgeous facets of her personality. We did just that!
Lori is a DREAM to work with. From a photographer's perspective, it just doesn't get any better. Not only is she is drop dead gorgeous, she's open minded and adventurous. She proved this by enthusiastically cooperating with every idea I had - even if she wasn't sure WHY I wanted to do certain things.
At one point, we even walked into a new-yet-to-be-opened storefront as people were installing fixtures and equipment. I found the person in charge and politely asked if we could quickly snap a few shots. The store owner was surprised and a little confused but gave permission. Lori didn't bat one perfect eyelash. She just looked at me and proceeded to pose as if we did this every day!
The images we created in this unopened storefront, with workers milling about turned out to be some of most stunning I have ever created. I am so proud of the results we accomplished in this one (very long) session.
I'm looking forward to watching Life Like Its Goldn grow and evolve. Lori Brown is a woman who is going places, making her mark, MAKING A STATEMENT!
